Tibet receives 17.174 million tourists in 1st half of 2022

Recently, the reporter learned from the Tourism Development Department of the region that from January 1 to June 30, 2022, Tibet received a total of 17.174 million domestic and foreign tourists, including 5126 inbound tourists and 17.1689 million domestic tourists. The total revenue was 17.652 billion yuan (2.654 billion US dollars).
The reporter also learned that the more popular scenic spots in Tibet this year include the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Norbulingka, Basum Co Lake, Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, and Yamzhog Yumco Lake. In front of the Potala Palace Square, you can see a lot of tour groups and tourists who came to Lhasa by bicycle. The Potala Palace Square has returned to its former liveliness.
