A Portion of the Shambhala Map.

Shambhala Map is an antique mural of Yuan Dynasty. It is located inside of the Que'erji Temple in middle Rangtang township, Rangtang County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

It portrayed a scene of the “Kalacakravajra” found in Tibetan Buddhism. According to Buddhist sutras, there is a beautiful eight-lotus-petaloid land of Buddhism in the core part of the snow-covered plateau.

The land has no suffering or grief and people long for the ideal kingdom.

The land is ruled by King Shambhala. The people there are very intelligent and the men are tall and the women beautiful. Everyone is happy and carefree.

According to research, this mural is more than 700 years old, which supported by the strong evidence that the person at the bottom left in the mural used flintlock.
