Tibet invests 900 million yuan for road construction
In the morning of July 15, the National Highway 214 and 317 Qamdo cross border area roadways went into comprehensive construction.
According to reports, the project has a total of 896 million yuan in investments. The project area is 11.3 kilometers long and the work period will be three years. The project involves construction of two tunnels, two bridges and three branches. The total amount that will be used for construction will be 252 million yuan.
Following rapid urbanization construction in Qamdo, the flow of population generally residing there and automobiles in the Karuo district have continually increased, and this has brought about traffic jams and other problems that have worsened by the day along national routes 214 and 317. This has caused serious problems for cars and pedestrian safety as well as urban sanitation. The road construction project is being carried out to solve all of these issues.
