Digital culture corridor covers Lhoka

The first and second phase of the “Digital Culture Corridor of the Border” construction project have both been successfully completed, inspected, and are in operation, making Lhoka the first city to realize comprehensive digital coverage for all counties and villages, according to the Culture Bureau of Lhoka City.

"The Ten Thousand Mile Digital Culture Corridor of the Border” is one of the key programs in the shared-culture initiatives as outlined in the “12th Five-Year Plan.”

Lhoka City has invested a total of 17.3 million yuan in two phases of the program, which began in 2015, and was completed and inspected in September of 2016. Program workers were provided professional training.

In addition, digital culture equipments were provided for 82 counties and towns, and 550 villages in Lhoka.

Lhoka City has built public digital reading rooms according to the guidelines of “At least 50 computers per city center, at least 30 computers per county center, at least 10 computers per county and village service station, and at least one computer per village service center.”

The program has given Lhoka residents, especially the young kids and teens, with public interest internet services providing healthy content, standardized services, and comfortable environments, basically achieving Level Four coverage in a nation-wide shared network of culture and information in all counties and villages.
