Joint support saves injured snow leopard in Qinghai

An injured snow leopard receives treatment at a temple in Nangchen County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Northwest China’s Qinghai Province. Two rangers found the snow leopard, which is a protected species in China, with injuries to both legs. They brought the animal to a nearby temple for treatment on Oct. 16. With the support of an expert from Beijing Forest University and a nature conversation organization, local authorities were able to quickly work out a rescue plan and now the snow leopard is in recovery.
