Recently, the DELIXI Electric Hope Primary School in Shongmai Township, Sakya County, Shigatse City, Tibet Autonomous Region organized a football match, with 5 teams from grade three to grade six in the school participating in. All teachers and students from the school came to watch the game.

The Shongmai DELIXI Electric Hope Primary School, formerly known as Shongmai Central Primary School, was officially unveiled on June 19, 2017. It is the 243rd Hope Primary School in Tibet. Sitting 4,500 meters above sea level, it is about 52 kilometers away from Sakya County.

"The teaching conditions were poor long ago. There were not enough desks, and both teachers and students needed to sit on the ground. We did not have enough school things and students learned to write on the ground with bamboo. They erased their exercise books after writing, and then repeated to do that. Today, the teaching conditions have improved, with beautiful teaching buildings, playgrounds with plastic runways, and modern teaching equipment... The changes are unimaginable before," said Dawa Phuntsok, a teacher who has been teaching in the school for 20 years.
