Mado County in Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located in the core area of the Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve. It is the first county where the Yellow River flows for thousands of miles and is known as the "County of Thousand Lakes". There are numerous lakes within the territory, including 5849 large and small lakes. In summer, the area of Maduo County will present a beautiful scenery of thousands of lakes scattered and sparkling.

Star Lake.

The Star Lake is composed of various lakes, seas, and water pools of different sizes. It is a key transition zone before the water from the source of the Yellow River enters Zhaling Lake. The lake is surrounded by green grass, and the lake is filled with various small flowers. The water is clear and the Yellow River naked carp swim in groups in the lake, and water birds occasionally skim over the lake surface, presenting a vibrant summer ecological picture.

Dungkar Tsongag Lake. 

Dungkar Tsongag Lake was included in the National Wetland Park by the State Forestry and Grassland Administration in 2019. It is one of the areas with the highest concentration of wild animals in the Yellow River source region.
