7th China Cyber Games Summit opens in Xining
The 7th China Cyber Games Summit (CCGS), the country's flagship annual e-sports industry gathering, kicked off in Chengxi district of Xining, capital of Northwest China's Qinghai province, on Thursday. Alongside the summit's forum, the event also includes the 2026 ESCC Qinghai Provincial University E-sports Finals and the Huanyu Wonderland E-sports-Anime Carnival, centering on the integrated development of e-sports with culture, sports and tourism. Bringing together over 150 leading enterprises and 200 industry representatives, as well as 80 municipal and provincial e-sports associations from across the country, the summit covers five core sectors: e-sports and culture-sports-tourism integration, e-sports and real estate, e-sports and capital, e-sports and entertainment, and e-sports with education. A number of programs include the industry report release, project signing ceremonies, initiative launches, keynote speeches and roundtable discussions, serving as a high-end platform for industrial dialogue and project implementation. As the core local implementing entity, Qinghai Tianmai Construction and Investment sealed three key industrial cooperation agreements at the opening ceremony. The projects form a complete industrial chain from venue carriers and talent training to consumption scenarios, filling the gap in high-quality digital culture and sports supply in Northwest China. In a key public welfare achievement of the summit, the Federation of Fujian Overseas Chinese Communities in Europe signed an agreement with Guojing (Fujian) Sports Industry to jointly establish the Root-seeking Culture Special Fund. Leveraging e-sports as a universal cultural language for global youth, the fund will connect overseas Chinese resources and public welfare platforms to open up channels for youth exchanges at home and abroad through digital culture and sports. During the opening ceremony, the 2026 China Esports Industry Research Report, an authoritative data reference for the development of digital culture and sports industries in central and western China, was released. The summit also officially launched the Global Healthy E-sports Youth Growth Program. Focusing on youth development issues related to e-sports, the program addresses hot-button issues such as gaming addiction, misconceptions about careers in e-sports and insufficient home-school-society collaborative education mechanisms. Abandoning the traditional approach of simple restriction, it prioritizes awareness correction, interest guidance and growth path planning, and will promote the formulation of anti-addiction standards, build a healthy e-sports research and learning system, and explore AI-enabled psychological counseling solutions for families. Running alongside the summit, the 2026 ESCC Qinghai Provincial University Esports Finals and the Huanyu Wonderland Esports-Anime Carnival kicked off simultaneously. The university tournament will run for nearly one month, attracting nearly 1,000 participants from 12 elite college teams across five northwestern provincial-level regions. The carnival, held in Xining's Tangdao 637 commercial district, gathers top ACG influencers with tens of millions of followers nationwide, blending Hehuang traditional culture with that of the modern, digital era.
