Wild leopard found in a border town of Tibet

(ECNS) -- A police officer at Jilong frontier inspection station in Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region spotted a wild leopard via video surveillance on Sunday.

Leopard is a national first-class protected animal. It is mainly distributed in the eastern part of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, southeast of Tibet Autonomous Region, northwest of Yunnan Province and southwest of Sichuan Province.

Jilong has a good ecological environment and rich forest vegetation in mountainous areas. There are wild boar, sheep, monkeys and other wild animals, which is suitable for leopard's survival and reproduction.
