Professional teachers cultivated to adapt to education development in Tibet
The Tibet Autonomous Region Department of Education recently announced that since the establishment of the Tibet Autonomous Region 55 years ago, it had always attached importance to the cultivation of its teaching staff. Now, a professional team of teachers have been cultivated to adapt to the development of education in the region.
According to an official statistics, by the end of 2019, there were 56,513 in-service teaching faculty and staff in Tibet, an increase of more than 50,000 since 1965. There were 51,903 full-time teachers, with the main body of teachers being young and middle-aged. The proportion of teachers with higher education degrees increased. The qualification rates of teachers in preschool, elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, secondary vocational school, and university were 99.62 percent, 99.94 percent, 99.91 percent, 98.68 percent, 96.41 percent, and 99.69 percent respectively.
