Over 100 major projects start or resume in Tibet

LHASA, March 25 (Xinhua) -- A total of 107 major projects were on Thursday started or resumed in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, according to local authorities.

The projects, with a total investment of 25.53 billion yuan (about 3.91 billion U.S. dollars), cover industrial development, renovations of old communities and infrastructure, and other fields in the city's Chengguan District, said the local development and reform commission.

The projects are expected to create more than 4,000 jobs for local farmers and herders, with a total annual income increase of 180 million yuan, the commission noted.
