Raising Tibetan chickens boosts income

The Kanggong Chicken Farm, located in the Economic Development District of Chamdo in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, is operated by the Chamdo Kanggong Poultry Industry Technology Co., Ltd. The program has a total of 48.6 million yuan (7 million US dollars) in investment, with 31 million yuan (4.5 million US dollars) already invested. In 2018, the business gave local residents 64 thousand chicks for cultivation to over 1,000 registered poverty-striken residents in 340 households, and created an average income increase of 3,800 yuan (553 US dollars) per household.
