Taiwanese grassroot leaders visit Tibet

“This visit to Tibet has given me a deeper understanding of Tibetan culture and Tibetans’ living environment. If there is another opportunity, I would will visit a second time,” Xu Yongkun, head of Dengshan Town in Taiwan’s Gushan District, said.

Recently, 11 heads from administrative divisions in Taiwan visited Lhasa and Lhoka cities in Tibet to conduct exchanges.

Chen Yuwen said, “Tibet has beautiful scenery, dignified and classical palaces, and the people are fervently religious, kind, and friendly, which makes me admire it deeply.”

Hong Jingcheng, head of Hui’an Town in Dengshan District, said that this trip to Tibet was “special” not only for the drop in temperature from 25 degrees Celsius to negative 10 degrees, but even more so for the warmth and friendship of the people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.
