My dad is going to teach kids in Tibet!
"My dad is leaving to teach kids in Tibet. He'll be there for a long time. I will miss him!" The 5-year-old daughter of Zhong Yingjie is running around her dad; she does not really understand what it means to be apart. His wife is next to him, holding their two-year-old son.
This morning, the second group of "Tibet-Aid Teachers" from Shanghai is leaving for Tibet. A total of 36 teachers coming from Shanghai with an altitude of 4 meters set for the plateau sitting 4,000 meters above sea level.
The team leader, Fu Xin, said, "We started training these teachers from July 22 to July 24. In the short time we spent together, we found them committed and dedicated."
One teacher named Sun Liang said, when deciding to work in Tibet, he knows he must overcome physical challenges like getting used to the plateau syndrome, as well as the loneliness from being apart with friends and family members.
Another teacher Fu Qiyu, said her family is her support in working in Tibet. "To make my parents less worried, I did a lot of preparations before I left. For example, I taught them how to access to Internet and use Wechat software. And they have mastered the technique."
