Solar Halo Observed over Lhasa
On July 30, a solar halo appeared in the sky in Lhasa, Tibet. The reporter observed that the solar halo lasted for more than two hours. The halo was obvious during most of the period, presenting beautiful and spectacular scenes.
Also known as a round rainbow, the solar halo is an atmospheric optical phenomenon caused by the refraction or reflection of ice crystals when sunlight passes through the cirrostratus clouds.
