Guinan County, belonging to Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, is located in the northeast of Qinghai Province, between Xiqing Mountain and the Yellow River. It is adjacent to Zeku County in Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture to the east, Tongde County in the south, Xinghai County and Gonghe County in the west, and Guide County in the north. The county government is located 254 kilometers away from the provincial capital Xining.
