Dpa'ris, meaning the region or tribe of heroes, is the hometown of white yaks. Dpa'ris Tibetans are distributed in 14 counties in Qinghai Province, including Tianjun County, Qilian County, and Ledu County, and Tianzhu County in Gansu Province.  Dpa'ris Tibetan people have developed their own unique clothing culture, aesthetic standards, and clothing production techniques throughout their long history.
