Tibetan style watchtowers in the Banma area of Qinghai Province showcase unique architectural techniques

On October 16th, a Tibetan style watchtower was erected in Banma County, Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The history of Tibetan style watchtowers in the Banma region can be traced back to 800 years ago. The styles are divided into four types: stone style, wood style, stone wood mixed style, and new-style, with a stepped appearance. The overall height of the watchtower is about 10 meters, usually divided into two or three floors. The upper floor is used to store food, the middle floor is used for living, and the lower floor is used to raise livestock. In 2011, "Tibetan watchtower Architecture Techniques (Bama watchtower Architecture Techniques)" was included in the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
