Various precious animals living in the vast Qiangtang Plateau

May 22 is the International Day for Biological Diversity. Located in northern Xizang, the Qiangtang National Nature Reserve covers a total area of approximately 298,000 square kilometers. It is a home to many wild animals and a treasure trove of biodiversity. Inhabiting here are 10 species of national first-class protected animals and 21 species of national second-class protected animals. Across this vast wilderness with an average altitude of over 4,500 meters, Tibetan antelopes, wild yaks, and Tibetan wild asses roam freely, while snow leopards, black-necked cranes, Tibetan foxes, and brown bears dwell peacefully. Together, they compose the symphony of life on the high plateau.

Maintaining biodiversity means protecting our own living environment and cherishing the lives that share this world with humanity, which is equivalent to loving ourselves.
