Observations on Post Disaster Recovery and Reconstruction in Sakya County, Shigatse City

The picture shows the Wangdul family taking a photo in front of their new house.

The spring breeze is gradually fading away, and the beginning of summer has arrived. The vegetation on the plateau is lush and full of vitality. The mountain breeze carries the fragrance of soil and grass, sweeping over the neatly arranged new residential buildings and blowing across the vast fields. This is the first year since the residents of Sakya County in Shigatse City moved into their newly restored homes after the disaster.

In the past year, Sakya County has always adhered to the development concept of putting the people at the center, taking ensuring and improving people's livelihoods as the starting point and foothold of all work, and achieving the goal of "being affected by disasters and moving in the same year" as scheduled.
