December 14th is the 25th day of the tenth month in the Tibetan calendar, and the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism celebrates its annual "Butter Lamp Festival ". On this day, the butter lamps in the homes of various believers will be lit up all night to commemorate the founder of the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism, Master Tsongkhapa. As the birthplace of Master Zongkaba, Kumbum Monastery in Huangzhong District, Xining City, Qinghai Province is one of the most solemn places for the celebration of Butter Lamp Festival.

Peng Chao and his friends from Jiangxi used butter lamps to create a pattern of "safety for all beings" and took photos to share on social media. He said, "Today is the first time we have walked into this ancient temple, praying for the health of our distant family".
