Green Revolution at altitudes above 4000 meters

Bangong Lake is located in the western border of the Xizang Autonomous Region and forms a unique ecosystem relying on the lake itself and its surrounding marshes and meadows.

In order to protect the extremely precious green grassland in this high-altitude area, wildlife rangers tirelessly patrol every green space. They patrol three times a month, covering 40-50 kilometers each time.

Monitoring the population of wild animals, confirming the presence of diseases, and cleaning up the surrounding garbage are all daily tasks of wildlife conservation personnel. The behavior of harming wild animals by humans has now been basically eliminated.

Outside Bangong Lake, the vast western region of Xizang is desolate because it is far away from the Indian Ocean water vapor channel.

The harsh ecological conditions not only constrain regional development, but also bring many practical challenges to the production and life of local people. Therefore, protecting homes and improving the ecology have become people's deep expectations.

In 2024, the greening project in the northern mountainous area of Shiquan River in Ngari Prefecture was officially launched. The plan is to complete the afforestation of the mountains within 5 years and build the "Green Great Wall of Northern Mountainous Areas" within 10 years. The completed land greening area has reached 237600 acres

Nowadays, on the once exposed desertified land, greenery continues to expand at a visible speed, and "green small parks" have emerged everywhere, becoming a pure land for local people to relax and stroll.

The green revolution on the "roof of the world" not only adds a lot of green beauty to the Tibetan Plateau, but also protects the high-quality development of Xizang.(From Xinhua)
