Snow leopard trapped rescued in Tibet’s Nyingchi
Recently, a snow leopard sneaked into a village house courtyard in Kailang Village, Baiba Town, Bayi District, Nyingchi, Tibet, trying to catch and feed on livestock. The locals spotted the snow leopard and started to disperse it, which got trapped in the fence when run away.
In case the snow leopard got agitated and could attack the people nearby, staff from the Nyingchi wildlife shelter anaesthetized the big cat and sent it to their office for a full health check.
The Nyingchi Forestry Bureau discussed the matter promptly with experts from Tibet Agricultural and Animal Husbandry University, and formulated a scientific plan for the snow leopard’s recovery, feeding and asylum. They will continue to monitor the snow leopard’s recovery and health status.
