“Big happiness” in “small greenhouses” of Daru Village, Khentang Township
When the first ray of sunlight fell on Daru Village, Khentang Township, Chagyab County, Chamdo, Tibet Autonomous Region, villager Loten was already busy in the greenhouse weeding, fertilizing, and furrowing. In his eyes, these are the “seeds” of hope for a better life in the future.
Since the fight against poverty began, in 2020, a modern vegetable growing greenhouse was installed in Daru Village, which has laid the foundation for industrial development for Daru Village to fight poverty with high quality, consolidate and improve results and quality of poverty alleviation, and effectively link it to rural revitalization.
As it was getting late, the work team in the village and Loten sat around a firepit and talked. Loten said, “I will study greenhouse planting techniques and grow a richer variety of vegetables. The planting techniques will also be handed over to those in the village who want to grow vegetables. In the future, the village will establish a vegetable franchise cooperative so that all villagers will be able to grow vegetables. We will continue to revitalize the countryside more actively and live a happier life.”
