Tibetan athletes achieve good results at National Cross-Country Skiing Championships
Recently, reporters learned from the Tibet Autonomous Region Sports Bureau that Tibetan athletes have achieved good results in the national cross-country skiing championships.
It is understood that on January 22, the 2020-2021 National Cross-Country Skiing Championships kicked off at the National Snow Training Base in Baiyin City, Gansu Province. More than 170 athletes from 23 teams across the country gathered for the competition.
In the women’s team sprint finals on January 26, Tibetan contestants Sonam Choezhen and Kelsang Choezhen finished fourth.
It is reported that this event is sponsored by the Winter Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration, the Chinese Skiing Association, the Gansu Province Sports Bureau, and the Baiyin Municipal People’s Government. It includes men’s and women’s individual short distances (traditional/free) and group short distances (traditional/free). The eight competitions will end on January 29. The Tibet skiing team sent a total of six athletes to participate in the competition.
