By the end of 2019, Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region, had lifted a total of 44,435 people out of poverty. The per capita disposable income among the impoverished residents rose to 11,364 yuan (about $1,730) in 2019. Poverty alleviation through relocation has benefited more than 20,000 impoverished people, giving them easy access to public services.

Earlier in 2018, all eight poverty-stricken counties or districts in Lhasa were officially removed from the poverty list, making Lhasa the first city in Tibet to delist all poverty-stricken counties.
