Tibet disposes of household garbage in rural areas
LHASA, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region has disposed of household garbage in more than 90 percent of its villages to improve the rural living environment.
Efforts have been strengthened from early 2018 when the central authorities released a three-year action plan to improve the living environment of the rural areas across the nation.
To date, the garbage dumping sites that did not meet the relevant standards had all improved, said an official with the regional department of agriculture and rural affairs.
The region has also made efforts to prevent the random disposal of domestic wastewater in rural areas.
According to the department, the region will further spread health and sanitation knowledge, instruct farmers and herders to get rid of unhealthy living habits, and encourage them to actively participate in improving the living environment.
