In order to protect naked carp and restore the ecosystem of Qinghai Lake, since the 1980s, Qinghai Province has implemented several “lake closures for fish breeding” on Qinghai Lake. At the same time, since 2002, Qinghai Province started to artificially reproduce and release naked carp. This year, artificial reproduction and release amounted to 16 million, the largest number since 2002.
