Outstanding achievements have been made in the conservation of biodiversity in the Qilian Mountains.

By May, although the Qilian Mountains still retain the lingering winter charm, various wild animals are competing to appear and thrive. The Qilian Mountains are an important ecological security barrier in western China, maintaining the ecological balance and water resource security of inland river basins in northwest China. They play an irreplaceable role in water conservation, biodiversity maintenance, climate regulation, and other aspects.

In recent years, with the continuous improvement of the Qilian Mountains biodiversity conservation system, the strengthening of monitoring mechanisms, and the significant enhancement of basic capabilities, the effectiveness of biodiversity conservation in the Qinghai area of Qilian Mountains National Park (candidate area) has become increasingly prominent, and the ecological picture is slowly unfolding.
