First Youth Artificial Intelligence Programming Competition Held in Xizang Museum of Natural Science
Recently, the Xizang Museum of Natural Science held Xizang’s first Youth Artificial Intelligence Programming Competition. 24 teams from 9 elementary and secondary schools in the Xizang Autonomous Region participated in the competition which was divided into robot programming and drone programming contests.
On the site of the competition, the contestants wrote code, debugged and controlled the robots to complete the tasks assigned, showing their talents and strength in the area of programming with might and main. This was not only a competition of programming knowledge, but also one of techniques, strategies, mental quality, on-the-spot performance, and teamwork. Contestants must rise to the occasion bravely when facing difficulties and keep a competitive spirit.
Rigden Phuntsok is a student of grade 5 at Haicheng Elementary School in Lhasa. He has been studying robot programming for more than a year. He said that the experiences of robot programming has greatly affected his plan for future learning.
Since the spring semester of 2023, many elementary and secondary schools in Lhasa have started to offer interest classes in artificial intelligence programming for students. In addition, special training has been provided for young artificial intelligence technology teachers.
