100 Yaks in Zhidoi County, Qinghai were “Married” to Adjacent Amdo County, Xizang
On September 21, herdsmen of Zhidoi County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province gathered in Zhidoi County Live Animal Trade Market to celebrate the 7th Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival. Two trucks carrying 100 yaks that could give birth to calves (cows) became a highlight of the festival activity.
It was learned that the two counties reached the intention of cooperation in terms of enhancing genetic improvement and promoting the high-quality development of the animal husbandry industry after coordination. Zhidoi County would transport 640 high-quality plateau yaks (cows) to Amdo County. The 100 yaks that could give birth to calves (cows) transported to Amdo County, Nagqu this time were the first batch of yaks that could give birth to calves (cows). They had been strictly screened by professional personnel of agriculture and animal husbandry in the two counties and passed animal epidemic disease monitoring and quarantine. The other 540 yaks would also be transported to Amdo County by land this year successively.
