A bird’s eye view of Yuexiong Glacier in Tibet
The Yuexiong Glacier is located in Baqen County, Nagchu City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The huge glacier looks like a giant dragon, pouring down from the peak of the 6,238-meter-high Bu'gyai Snow Mountain and forming a suspended glacier body in a bird’s eye view. It is a spectacular sight.
The Yuexiong Glacier is about 85 kilometers away from Baqen County. The area in which the glacier is located belongs to a national wetland reserve. It is mainly composed of lakes, rivers, swampy meadows, and some water source forests in the catchment area of the lower glacier.
Yuexiong Lake formed by the melt-water of Yuexiong Glacier.
