China participates in Mexico Cultural Expo as Guest of Honour

The opening ceremony of the 10th Mexico City International Friendship Cultural Expo was held at the Archbishop of Mexico City Museum in Mexico on Sunday.
Nyingchi Folk Troupe of Tibet autonomous region kicked off the ceremony with their dance performance.
With sophisticated clothes, beautiful songs and elegant moves, they painted a picture of the magnificent snow-covered plateau.
Qiu Xiaoqi, Chinese ambassador to Mexico, delivered a speech after the performance.
He emphasized that China and Beijing’s participations as the guests of honours at the invitation of the organizing committee of the expo will undoubtedly inject new energy into the friendship between both countries and the friendly city relationship between Mexico City and Beijing.
He said China is willing to continue its cooperation with Mexico. The expo will further deepen the ties with people in both countries, promoting the China-Mexico relations to a new level.

During the expo, China will hold about nearly 20 different cultural and art events. “Chinese Tibet, Tashi Delek” Culture Week, Chinses Design, Culture, and Life Experience Exhibition, and In Between: Chinese New Ink Painting Exhibition are included.
Together, the events will reveal the image of a modern contemporary China.
“The success of the opening of this year’s expo is made possible by the joint efforts of the participated nations. Mexico City is proud to have the tradition of holding the Friendship Culture Expo to further develop its friendships, exchange cultures and facilitate cooperation with nations worldwide,” said acting mayor of Mexican City.
The expo is projected to attract around 5.5 million Mexican locals.
The Mexico City International Friendship Cultural Expo started in 2009, and activities include culture exhibitions, film panorama, travel information and art performances.
The expo will end at the end of April.
