Tibet publishes first Chinese-Tibetan financial terminology dictionary
Southwest China's Tibet recently released its first-ever Chinese-Tibetan Financial Terminology Dictionary, which is the first time a Chinese-Tibetan financial dictionary with such a large volume of words and comprehensive coverage was published in Tibet, filling a void in this area.
In the last few years, as the market economy in Tibet grew rapidly, increasingly high-end and specialized financial terms have appeared. To better serve the needs of farmers and herders to use Tibetan vocabulary for financial products and services, the Agricultural Bank of China's Tibet branch took on the mission of compiling the Chinese-Tibetan Financial Terminology Dictionary based on their years of experience.
According to Phurbu Dondrup, the editor-in-chief of the project and the director of the translation office at the Agricultural Bank of China's Tibet branch, the dictionary took four years to complete, and contains over 5,000 terms. After being examined and approved by an expert panel, the dictionary is said to be normalized, standardized, and popular in style.
