Tibet unaffected by Shandong vaccine scandal

On March 31, Tibet’s 12331 food and drug complaint and report campaign event took to the streets of Lhasa. According to Thupden Tsering, director of the Tibet Autonomous Region Food and Drug Administration, as of the afternoon on March 30, Tibet had been unaffected by the Shandong Province vaccine scandal and Tibet’s vaccines are safe. People can be inoculated in standard medical institution.

It is understood that after the illegal vaccine business from Shandong was exposed, on March 20, the Tibet Food and Drug Administration immediately organized a full-force inspected across Tibet. As of the afternoon of March 30, none of the medicine checked in 105 pharmacies, 543 medical institutions, and 1,207 basic level preventative inoculation centers in the Tibet

Autonomous Region was found to be related to the Shandong vaccine scandal.

During the campaign event on the 30, organizers distributed propaganda materials, publicity boards, answered questions and other methods to explain to the public how to identify authentic food and drug products, promoting preventative awareness, and opened a channel for people to report offenses and file complaints. If people discover a problem with a food or drug product, they can call 12331 to file a report.
