Hospital project with largest investment in Lhasa's history begins construction
Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region, begun the construction of Lhasa Baiding Hospital project, Mar. 21, Tibet Daily reported.
The hospital will be built as a Class A tertiary comprehensive one with the heaviest one-time invetment (2.5 billion yuan), largest scale, and highest construction standards in city's history.
Qizhala, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Tibet Autonomous Region and municipal party secretary of Lhasa, announced the commencement of hospital project. Dekyi, vice chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region also attended.
The Baiding Hospital project includes two periods.
In the first period, the construction will be focused on outpatient services department, emergency room, inpatient department, medical technology space, expert apartments, turnover housing and more. With a total investment of 1.4 billion yuan and a floor area of 198,800 square meters, it will set up 1,000 hospital beds.
In the second period, with investment of 1.1 billion yuan, the construction will set up 500 hospital beds which covers an area of 100,000 square meters.
Integrating medical treatment, education and scientific research, the hospital will be a front ranking regional medical center in terms of facilities, technical service, management as well as quality.
According to Tsering Yangzom, vice mayor of Lhasa, the commencement of the hospital project is a delightful matter. It will greatly contribute to the city’s economic and social development, as well as progresses in medical care and local residents' health conditions.
