Mt. Qomolangma scenic spot to resume peak-season price next month
According to the Dingri county government in Tibet Autonomous Region, the “Winter Travel in Tibet, Joys at Mt. Qomolangma” activity will end on Mar. 31. Starting from April, the Mt. Qomolangma scenic spot will resume the high season ticket price at 180 yuan (29 US dollars).
In recent years, the infrastructure of the Mt. Qomolangma scenic spot has been continuously improved; the road linking Dingri County with the base camp is constructed into asphalt road. The base camp has been installed with electricity and a synthesized service station has been set up here, therein providing heating and logging service.
The tourist department reminds visitors that, your personal IDs are required to be carried with you when you travel to the base camp; you are also required to apply for administrative border-pass-permits.
Besides, there is a big temperature difference between the day-time and night-time within the scenic spot, so that tourists should bring with them enough clothes to avoid the cold and keep warm.
The Mt. Qomolangma is the highest peak in the world, its north slope is located in Dingri County.
The best season for mountaineering is from April to May every year, yet traveling to the Mt. Qomolangma base camp can be done all year round. Not far from the base camp is situated the highest monastery in the world – the Rongpo Monastery.
