Tibetan artists will perform in Hong Kong during Lantern Festival

As the Lantern Festival is coming, the Leisure and Cultural Services Departmente of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region government will hold three large-scale colored lantern evening parties from the 20th of February. The Tibetan Art Ensemble will come to Hong Kong and perform authentic large-scale Tibetan ethnic songs and dances for the Hong Kong citizens.

Qu Junyi, the director of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department said the Tibetan Art Ensemble comes from Qamdo Prefecture in east Tibet. In the past, they came to Hong Kong and performed for pay. This time, they will visit Hong Kong and give free performances for the Hong Kong citizens. This is a very rare opportunity. The performance tour is also supported by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office which belongs to the Cultural Ministry of China.
