New Consul General in Lhasa: Nepal do not tolerate any anti-China activities
On August 29th, Padma Choling, vice secretary-general of the CPC Committee of the Tibet Autonomous Region, chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region, met with Gobinda Bahadur Karki , the new Consul General of Nepal in Lhasa.
Padma Choling congratulated and welcomed Gobinda Bahadur Karki, he applauded and thanked Nepal’s consistent “One China” policy, and not tolerating any forces using Nepalese territory to conduct anti-China activities.
Padma Choling said in the 61 years since China and Nepal had established diplomatic relations, no matter how international conditions or the two countries’ domestic situations changed, China and Nepal always maintained a healthy and stable relationship. It is a model relationship of equal and peaceful coexistence between countries. In recent years, the two countries have established a friendly and historical partnership that was very comprehensive, with frequent political interactions, rapid development in economic, trading, and cultural areas, and close coordination and cooperation in national and regional affairs.
In particular, after the devastating April 25th, 2015 earthquake in Nepal, China stood by the Nepalese people with solidarity, and the friendship between the countries was further strengthened.
Padma Choling said the friendship between Tibet and Nepal is long-lasting, and as the foundation of the friendship continues to be fortified, the region’s exchange and partnership with Nepal would continue to enjoy growth in areas such as trading, transportation, humanities and more.
Padma Choling hoped that governments of China and Nepal work together, to combine the “One Belt and Road” initiative and the “13th Five-Year Plan” with Nepal’s national construction and development planning, so as to expand and strengthen the countries’ partnership in all areas and create a community.
Gobinda Bahadur Karki expressed sincere appreciation for the aid China and the Tibet Autonomous Region provided to northern Nepal, and their great support for Nepal during the April 25th, 2015 earthquake. He said the two countries have had a long-standing friendship, and are friendly neighbors and close friends.
He said the Nepalese government has always maintained and continues to follow the “One China” policy, believes Taiwan and Tibet are an inalienable part of the Chinese territory, and the Nepalese government would never tolerate anyone to conduct anti-China activities in Nepal.
