The "China Qinghai folk culture and art performance", was held in the Sydney Government Cultural Activity Center by Qinghai Provincial People’s Government Information Office, in the afternoon of July 31, 2016,. It included a beautiful Qinghai photo exhibition, a fine Thangka exhibition, a Tibetan carpet exhibition, a documentary exhibition and a folk dance performance.

The organizers chose nearly 200 photos, Thangka, Tibetan carpets, many documentaries and a dance program, in an effort to bring the Sydney people closer to Qinghai’s natural beauty and cultural charm.

Trent Zimmerman, Australian Federal Councilor, North Sydney Councilor and Deputy Minister of Tourism, was particularly interested in the song and dance performances and art exhibitions.

He was very pleased to say, “When people talk about the relationship between China and Australia, most discussion is centered around economic cooperation, but real exchange is based on mutual understanding of culture. We are very welcome the delegation from Qinghai.” He believes that Sino-Australian economic exchange is currently very active and hopes that through this event they can strengthen Sino-Australian cultural and art exchange.
