Tibet’s Nyingchi altitude training base completed

Tibet’s Nyingchi altitude training base is complete and the project has been approved. The training base will be an important base for endurance training, according to Xinhua.

The base covers an area of 40 acres, with a climbing wall and other kinds of sports training equipment, as well as appropriate rescue equipment and infrastructure. The base will be important for training Tibet’s sports teams and for development of Tibet’s outdoor sports.

Nyingchi training base will be a fully functional facility with a training base, exchange center, industrial park, outdoor youth camps and others. In the future, Tibet will be able to hold high-level endurance races, officials from the TAR Sports Bureau said.

Nyingchi is at an altitude of about 2900 meters, with dense forests and high levels of oxygen, making it suitable for endurance training.
