Tibetan comic novel "Image on the other side" published
Tenzin Najie, a Tibetan guy born in the 90s, spent three years meticulously drawing the original children’s comic novel “Image on the other side”, which was recently published by Tibet People’s Publishing House. There are more than 20 pieces of original cartoons interspersed throughout this comic fantasy novel, which portrays the new vision of young Tibetans at the time, as well as thoughts and queries surrounding time and space and cosmic beings. Tenzin Najie created all stories and original cartoons in the book.
The Tibetan and Han book “Image on the other side” tells this kind of story: golden-winged bird king Dapeng and demon girl Zemei are lost on Earth. In order to obtain the fused “soul” of gods, demons and humans, fighting occurred in the six realms, where Zemei used help from the archetypal Asura evil god Luo and from the gods Shi and Tuo to finally defeat the Nagas. Tenzin Najie said that the story originated from his childhood and the reveries he had about Buddha Sakyamuni when accompanying his mother to Jokhang Temple at the age of twelve.
