It's the opening of Tibet’s youth mountaineering summer camp and also the national Star of Hope rock climbing competition. 42 campers from Beijing, Chongqing, Guizhou and other places launched the event in Lhasa and Yangbajing alpine training base. In three days the campers will be camping, climbing, mountain biking, swimming and enhancing their outdoor knowledge.
Pasang Tsering, camp organizer and captain of the Tibet Mountaineering Team, said that the summer camp in Tibet is aimed at improving young people’s awareness of challenges. It also helps improve their field survival knowledge, field survival skills and ability to adapt to the environment.
Pasang Tsering said that the Tibetan climbing team selected a number of excellent coaches for the event. They have a great reputation in the industry and have achieved excellent results in rock climbing and other outdoor competitions. To ensure safety, a doctor will accompany them throughout all camp activities, guaranteeing the health of campers.
