1 billion yuan allotted for Tibetan relic protection during 12th Five-year Plan

China has arranged 1 billion yuan (161.3 million US dollars) for construction surrounding 46 public cultural facilities and important relics during the 12th Five-year Plan, xinhua reported.

Up until present, the Drolma Lhakhang and Mindroling Monastery amongst a total of 26 projects have already had construction completed. Furthermore, the Palcho Monastery amongst 20 other cultural relic protection projects are under construction.

Tibetan cultural relics are rich in abundance. Up until now, there are 55 key cultural relic protection sites of state level, 391 of autonomous regional level and 978 of county and district level.

During the 13th five-year plan Tibet plans to realize intelligent security and protection of the Potala Palace and Norbulingka.
