Experiencing gifts of nature at Chaka Salt Lake

The Chaka Salt Lake Scenic Area is located in Wulan County, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. It is a national Level 4A scenic spot. In Tibetan, “chaka” means “salt pond”. In Mongolian it  also means “salt lake”.

Salt production facilities 

The beauty of the area promotes the development of tourism, and at the same time, it benefits the local people. The Chaka Salt Lake Scenic Area currently employs more than 1,000 people and indirectly employs more than 3,000. Thanks to the gift of nature and joint efforts of all parties involved, about 4,100 residents of Chaka Town are more prosperous.
