Zhamao is selected as beautiful and livable village

Recently, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China (MOHURD) released the list of beautiful and livable towns and villages in 2016. Zhamao was one of the seventy-eight beautiful and livable villages as well as the first town awarded the honor in Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of southeast of China’s Qinghai Province.

This is the third time the MOHURD has held the selection of beautiful and livable towns and villages. It aims to promote urbanization and new rural construction to show the beauty of China’s towns and villages. Langtang village of Guizhou Province, together with 78 other villages, was chosen as beautiful and livable villages.

Zhamao is characterized by beautiful natural environment and complete infrastructure. The village devotes to protecting traditional Tibetan architecture and to keeping their original styles, and constructs infrastructure according to the needs of residents. Moreover, Zhamao pays more attention to Regong culture development.

Zhamao’s success fully evidences the achievements of “Beautiful countryside” construction of Qinghai government.
