Forest soldiers rescue wounded elk from fire
Forest soldiers rescue a wounded elk on March 5 when putting out a fire in Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Gansu province. Soldiers give the elk simple therapy before sending it to the neighboring forestry department for further treatment. The elk will be released into the forest when fully recovered. The elk, a first class national protected animal, is rare across the world due to infrequent breeding. [Photo/Xinhua]
