Tibetan Woodcarving in Danang County, Xizang

As a unique form of craftsmanship, Tibetan woodcarving originated in Minzhulin Village, Zhaqi Township, Danang County, Xizang Autonomous Region,in the early period of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty ,and has a history of more than 300 years. During a long period of historical development, Tibetan woodcarving has been inherited and radiated to other villages in Danang County gradually.

Danang County is located in the south central Xizang, in the middle reaches of the the Yarlung Zangbo River, at the southern foot of the Mount Gang Renpoches. Danang County also known as the "hometown of Pulu" and "land of wood carving" since ancient times.
