Centers for Han-Tibetan cultural exchange to be established in Qinghai
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), the Ministry of Culture will support Qinghai province in its construction of 400 centers for Han-Tibetan cultural exchange, which will improve the quality of life for local residents.
According to Li Hong, director of the Center for Development of Public Culture, the center will add new terminals to 200 Han-Tibetan culture stations in various villages and townships. In addition, they will build 400 centers for Han-Tibetan cultural exchange in Tibetan regions in Qinghai.
The center will also carry out a series of cultural activities to promote the arts, poverty alleviation and volunteer services. They will improve the training of their personnel dedicated to Han-Tibetan cultural exchange.
Li said that the Han-Tibetan culture program, as an extension of the cultural Belt and Road Initiative, will focus on taking advantages of platforms, resources, channels and service networks of the Culture Sharing Project. It aims to promote communication between Han and Tibetan people, making culture a driving force in the region's everyday life and activities.
