Over 100,000 people visit Tibet Yak Museum in 2 years

Since Tibet Yak Museum opened on May 18, 2015, over 100,000 people have visited the museum, Xinhua reported.

The museum is located in the Liuwu District of Lhasa City. It received assistance from Beijing during construction and the building is more than 8000 square meters in size. It is the world’s first yak-themed museum of national level.

Tibet Yak museum focuses on three yak-related aspects: science and nature, history and literature, as well as spirituality and art.

The museum introduces in detail the origin of the Yak, its domestication as well as aspects of Tibetan culture created by both man and Yak together along with related artwork as well.
